I laughed when I saw the headline for Casey Schwartz's article in The Daily Beast: Anxiety Addicts. But if some of us are adrenaline addicts, why can't others get jazzed on anxiety? It's crossed my mind that some anxious people may use anxiety as rocket fuel to get difficult jobs done, as she suggests in her nice round-up of new anxiety research. Anxiety is such a common human emotion, it makes sense that it must have some advantage in at least some situations. It's like a tool that requires great skill to use but that you shouldn't get too dependent on. Very cool.
